Hong Kong

View from Victoria Peak
Hi folks,

We landed in Hong kong late at night (HKT). Greeted with hot sticky weather about 33 degrees at 11pm. Beautiful city which is amazing at night time - lights every where, all different colours. Heaps and heaps of people, both locals and expats. We have found the "people processing" to be very efficient and every one is friendly here. Mum keeps talking about the HUGE changes since she was here last.

We took a tour around Hong Kong Island today and went to places like Stanley markets, top of Victoria Peak which is 1800 feet above sea level (rich homes and apartment buildings). The tour guide said the higher you live the richer you are!

We went from one island to the other via the underwater harbour tunnel. Traffic seems to be all over the place but I guess they know what they are doing. Cars everywhere, although Sunday is supposedly the quiet day on the roads.

Junk boats in Aberdeen, which is a fishing village. 50,000 people live on the junk boats and fish for a living for 10 months of the year. For the other two months fishing is not allowed so the fish to reproduce.

On to Amsterdam tonight. Had good flight in to Hong Kong. Got over jet lag pretty quickly.

Had many many giggles so far and no falling out yet!

Watch out for more posts soon.
