Happy 85th birthday Granny

Happy 85th birthday Granny.

Last weekend we celebrated Granny's 85th birthday at Te Ngakau. She was surrounded by about 40-50 family and friends. It was great to see so many people there to celebrate such a wonderful achievement.

Granny doesn't look a day over 60 so she's pretty special to be 85 and still going strong. Good on you and I hope I can create a better posting in 5 years time.

We had yummy food for lunch and a cake for the birthday girl. The kids especially enjoyed themselves as there was a bouncy castle for them to play on.

Our visit to Sohpie chops

Brandon and I headed up to Te Puke to visit Sophie chops and her parents. She is such a cutie. She greeted us with open arms and a huge smile. Here we are...complete strangers to Sophie and she is greeting us like we are familiar faces.

It was really great to see Sophie, Megan and James. The main purpose for the trip was to get all Megan's hand-me-downs for the baby. We have nothing and now have just about everything from play pen, bassinet, clothes, cloths, hammock, pillows....just about everything.

A big thanks to Megan for that and promise that it will all be returned on day (when you need it again - he he).

21 February

Okay so most of you will know my news by now as I've been totally slack and not updated my blog in ages. So the big news (for those who don't know) is I'm pregnant and due 21 February 2008.

Brandon and I are really excited and as you can imagine both grandmothers-to-be are also really excited. I have warned Austin and Bruno that they need to adjust a little and "share" the house. I think they will be in for a shock once the baby arrives.

Hisami has been wanting me to post a picture of my tummy (or as Brandon has nicknamed it "The Guiness Belly') which I will get around to doing soon.

A big thank you to Megan who has catipulted me from having nothing in respect of baby stuff to having just about everything. Thank god for big sisters who have children!!!! Now all we have to worry about is getting a few big ticket items and we're pretty much set.

At this stage I'm still working but will finish at Christmas time and take 12 months maternity leave. I'm looking forward to having some "me time" before the baby is born.

I will post updates when I get a chance.
