Update on Amber

Its been a few months so I thought I would put some updated pics of Amber and a little bit on how she's doing. She is now 8 weeks old and boy has time flied! I just can't believe what she has been through already in her short wee life.

I've attached a pic of her in the incubator getting photo therapy treatment for her jaundice. She had this done when she was only two weeks old. We were at the hospital for four hours and Amber had five blood tests for her bilirubin level before we were allowed home.....at 1am!

The following week we were back in the hospital as I had found a lump on
her groin. It turned out to be an inguinal hernia so she required urgent surgery. We raced into Wellington hospital the next day ready for her operation but we had to wait a long time before the doctors told us the theatre room had a steam leek and we should go home and come back. I couldn't believe it as Amber was 10 hours nil by mouth before they sent us home. We returned to the hospital, this time things were going much better at the hospital and she got her operation. She's all good now and we've just had her follow up appointment with the surgeon and she's been given the all clear.

Her Granny Heather bought her a lovely merino swaddle which she just loves. She sleeps so well in it and I'm sure she dreams of good things......she probably just dreams of milk!

Amber is gaining good weight and is
changing every day. She laughs and makes google noises. Its so great!

Enjoy the photos.
