Christmas 2007

This is part 1 of a two part posting.

On 15 Dec Megan, James and Sophie came down from Te Puke so Leigh and I could catch up with them before Christmas. This year we'll all be in different towns on Christmas day so it was nice to be able to catch up and spend some sisterly time together before the h
olidays.

We met at James' parent's place and had a great catch up, exchanging gifts and celebrating with a little wine...well none for me anyway. That's the one downer about being pregnant over this festive season is I only get to have 'half" the fun. Never mind...all the more for next year.
Part two

Yesterday was 25 Dec and we spent the day with Brandon's family. We started the day with giving the boys their presents which they were so excited about. Unfortunately Santa wasn't as generous this year for them but never mind as they each got treats and toys.
We then headed to Waikanae for Christmas lunch and dinner. Unfortunately the weather wasn't that pleasant so we were a little house bound. After scoffing ourselves silly on lunch I had to go have a sleep as I was pretty tired. Later on we went for a walk along Waikanae River but just as we started walking it poured down again. They boys loved it though and they didn't care about the rain, they just loved being out walking and smelling different smells. They ran around so much that by the time we got back they were pretty tired.

Later that evening we decided to head home after dinner. It had been a long day but a nice long day! By the time we got home we were all tired (the boys included) and promptly upon arriving at home they went straight to their beds which just happened to be underneath the Christmas tree. It was such a cute way to end the day.

Baby Shower

I had my first baby shower on 2 Dec and it was really really great. Lots of people, including friends and family, came to help celebrate the soon to be arrival of our little baby. I received so many beautiful gifts so a big thank you to all those who came. Lucky for me I had no bath items and now baby is set for all bathing gear including bath toys and towels.

I've posted a pic of all my beautiful gifts which include books, bath toys, go-go bags, towels, music, first-aid kit, cuddly toys and even some smellies for me.

A big thanks to everyone who came and for the beautiful gifts.

I wrote a poem for the invitation and to express how Brandon and I feel about our precious little joy that will soon arrive.

They never thought they'd see the day
for a party like this to come their way.
A new little baby to cuddle and love,
to spoil just a little and think the world of.

A baby to cuddle and tickle its toes.
The sweet scent of powder, and kiss on the nose.
Teddy bears for the baby, rattles, powder and pins.
They'll be up at midnight with giggles and grins.

A bundle from heaven to simply adore,
now who in the world could ask for more.
